It’s 3:00 a.m. Where is your 15 Year Old Daughter?

A Candlelight Vigil for a 15 Year Old Girl….

who was killed on October 25th, got out of hand when the mother decided her child was actually the victim of the police.

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) – What started out as a peaceful candlelight vigil, turned into an emotional scene on Monday night.

The mother of a 15-year-old killed this weekend while riding in a stolen car is blaming the police for her daughter’s death. But Jackson police say they are not at fault.

Keisha Redmond, Keonna’s mother says her daughter didn’t have to die.

“They killed my baby. Someone else’s baby is on life support and another person in jail damn near for the rest of their life because of a $12,000 car and a joy ride,” Redmond tells us.

Jackson police say Keonna and two other teens were speeding down Raymond Road in the early hours of Saturday morning. An officer clocked the vehicle and made the stop.

Police say the officer pulled the vehicle over and once he got out of his car and started walking toward the vehicle, the driver of the car took off.

Chief Lee Vance says the officer never gave chase because the driver turned down a side street and then slammed into a tree.

But Keisha Redmond isn’t buying it and is still searching for answers.

“This about a high speed chase. It was three kids in that car that night, 14 and two 15 year olds. My baby is dead and another child in ICU and another baby about to do life in jail. All because a police officer took the initiative to chase them children.

For one stolen car.”

I guess it’s okay with this mother that her 14 year old teenage daughter was out at 3:00 a.m. unsupervised.  Did she have any idea where she was, who she was with or what they were doing?  What’s a stolen car between friends?  It’s not a problem that when stopped by a police officer they take off at a high rate of speed? Somehow, it’s the police officer’s fault for stopping this speeding vehicle?

I’d bet the farm that this ‘mother’ told many school teachers that it wasn’t her fault, it was the other kid, or the teacher, or just about anyone else.  Mom takes the blue ribbon for Chutzpah.

The title says it all. (Most) Black people need to stop playing ‘victim’. The biological female egg donor, because she certainly wasn’t a parent or mother, does not want to face the truth. She is the reason her daughter is dead. She was too lazy to actually raise her child. Just like a newly planted tree. As it grows you need to place sticks and string/twine/whatever around it to make sure it grows up straight. Black biological egg/sperm donors nowadays just birth children and let them grow willy nilly and we as a society pay the price. I speak this same truth on Youtube if you wish to look.

  2. This is such a sad story for so many reasons. Holding children accountable from a young age for their actions is something all families need to do. It is much easier to do that with intact families with moms and dads who teach values and respond with consequences when rules and values are ignored. It seemed so obvious to me when I saw this story that blaming police, or someone else, was probably an attitude that this mom had from early in this child’s life and probably led to an attitude that was responsible for this incident. Parenthood needs to be a decision, not an accident, but either way it is a job that needs to be taken seriously. Thank you for your input, it’s a sensitive subject.
