Ted Cruz Crucified By MSNBC, CNN, Fox and RNC For Not Endorsing Trump, Voter Focus Group Loved It

Once again Ted Cruz made the news media and the Republican Establishment unhappy.  They are all declaring him dead meat politically for not endorsing Trump. Reince Priebus the RNC chairman and thus the official head of the Republican Establishment said it was classless. MSNBC, CNN and Fox are all right now focusing on this, and saying even worse things than Priebus.

But 15 minutes ago Fox did a live focus group with Frank Luntz with a group that was about 55% Trump supporters and 5% Clinton supporters, the rest undecided.  The response was the absolute opposite.  The focus group of voters loved it, the overwhelming majority of them raised their hands in support of Cruz NOT endorsing Trump.

They said things such as “He stuck to his principals” and “I would have lost respect for him unless he did this”. Remember these are people mostly planning to vote for Trump, who just before that were saying positive things about Trump. Frank Luntz then showed the voter dialo-meter response, which was highly approving of Cruz’ statement that started the booing by Trump delegates, “Vote your conscience” and Luntz declared it a home run line by Cruz.  The exact opposite of what all the talking heads on TV said. They said voters would reject Cruz for his non-endorsement.

That happened about 10 PM PST on Hannity Show.  It is nowhere to be seen on internet or Fox site. If anyone copied it, please comment on this story as we would love to get a copy of it.  It may be the focus group that never happened, as it contradicts the news media.

Update 7-21-2016:  There is still no video of the Luntz focus group available 12 hours later, but someone did do a screen capture still of the vote.  One thing Luntz did was to only allow the group to see the convention, not see the media talking heads telling people what to think.  It looks like they voted 12 to 4 in favor of no Trump endorsement by Cruz.

Now for a typical media reaction to the very same moment in the speech:

MediaReactionCruzNon-Endorsement

Chris Mathews of MSNBC suddenly became a protector of the Republican Party:

Suddenly, Chris Matthews has the best interests of Republicans at heart. The MSNBC host, who has previously trashed Ted Cruz as Lucifer, on Wednesday appeared shocked at the Republican’s convention speech. A horrified Matthews chided, “What was really out of line tonight, I think politically and historically, was for Ted Cruz to basically snub the candidate for president.”

Regarding Cruz’s refusal to endorse Trump, the journalist muttered, “Extraordinary snubbing… You saw, if not sabotage tonight, certainly mutiny on the part of Cruz, hoping to bring down this nomination.”

Matthews continued, “When you leave a ship, you want it to sink, and that’s what Cruz has done tonight, left a ship he hopes will sink.”

Again if anyone has the video of this, please comment.  Fox has put up the focus group talking about Pence, but not Cruz.

 Washington Examiner Take on Convention:

Ted Cruz exposed the lie at the heart of this Republican convention

By PHILIP KLEIN (@PHILIPAKLEIN) 7/21/16 12:20 AM

CLEVELAND — As Mike Pence accepted the Republican Party’s nomination for vice president, I witnessed a supporter of Donald Trump and a Ted Cruz backer in a nearly chest-to-chest shouting match in the back of the convention floor, fighting over Cruz’s non-endorsement.

“We’re working hard for conservative principles, but the only way to beat Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton is to unite — ”

Before the Trump supporter from Arkansas could finish, a Cruz supporter I later identified as Colorado delegate and lawmaker Justin Everett interjected: “By selling out our principles?”

Last week, the party had a bitter battle over rules with many delegates pushing to unbind them so they could vote against the party’s nominee. On Monday, the convention convened with party leaders shutting down an anti-Trump drive for a roll call vote on the rules.

Though we’re used to defeated rivals appearing on stage to enthusiastically throw their support with the nominee, Gov. Scott Walker endorsed Trump without saying anything positive about him beyond his name not being Hillary Clinton. Sen. Marco Rubio couldn’t bring himself to attend, and instead thread the needle with a short video message.

Dozens of prominent Republican elected officials chose to skip the convention altogether.

There is no true functional coalition of Republicans. The party is not uniting around Trump. All Cruz did was expose what is blatantly obvious to every intellectually honest person.

The bottom line is of Trump’s 3 major competitors, Cruz, Kasich and Rubio, only one attended the convention and that one did not endorse Trump.  This is truly unprecedented.  What has brought about this disunity?  In the last truly contentious convention, 1964, it was ideology.  Today it is not, it is Trump himself.  Despite the establishment media singling out Cruz for being abrasive, he never accused Trump’s father of being a murderer nor publicly threatened his wife.  Trump did do both to Cruz. And Cruz said so today in a meeting with Texas Republicans as to why he did not endorse Trump.

I have suspected for decades that the RNC, the Republican National Committee, is not on the side of Republican voters and in fact may be purposely trying to lose elections. That may be because of moles or blackmail. Why? One example, once again in this cycle the RNC did nothing to prevent wonderful sound bites for the DNC as Republican candidates sliced and diced each other, just like in 2008 and 2012.  Did the DNC do the same? No, in fact Sanders would not even go after Clinton over the email lies!

If the RNC is trying the lose this election, they have done an excellent job so far.

How about Fox News?

At first they were in the can for Bush and Rubio.  When Rubio would get a 3rd they would gush over Rubio and ignore Trump and Cruz. Then they switched to Trump. They always tried to ignore Cruz as much as possible.  Why did they switch to Trump?  The word was Trump blackmailed Ailes into it.  Fox News coverage switch seems to back that up.  Back in April this was reported:

When Roger was having problems, he didn’t call 97 people, he called me,” Trump said. Burstein, it turned out, had worked for Trump briefly in the ’90s, and Ailes asked Trump to mediate. Trump ran the negotiations out of his office at Trump Tower. “Roger had lawyers, very expensive lawyers, and they couldn’t do anything. I solved the problem.” Fox paid Lewis millions to go away quietly, and Trump, I’m told, learned everything Lewis had planned to leak. If Ailes ever truly went to war against Trump, Trump would have the arsenal to launch a retaliatory strike.  http://crooksandliars.com/2016/04/icymi-donald-trump-has-dirt-roger-ailes

Was Ailes blackmailable?

In light of what has happened the last two weeks seems to confirm that Trump did blackmail Ailes into supporting Trump.  Ailes was blackmailable and Fox did a 180 on Trump coverage.   Ailes is now gone. http://money.cnn.com/2016/07/21/media/roger-ailes-leaves-fox-news/index.html

This does not mean Trump will not win. Hillary is the weakest candidate since Dukakis and the highest negatives candidate the Democrats have ever had, since negatives have been measured.
