The New Bigotry, Police Union Official Blasts Prejudiced Anti-Cop Bigots: “They Want Dead Cops”

On a topic that AUN-TV is planning on delving into a police union official has noticed the same thing. Something that is of grave consequences.   That a new bigotry and dehumanization campaign is going on.

Jeff Roorda, business manager of the St. Louis Police Officers Association, said on Fox & Friends after the shooting of two officers that the resignation Wednesday of Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson wasn’t enough for some protesters.

“Dead cops. That’s what they want. And let’s not pretend like they wanted Tom Jackson’s resignation, or that they’re still mad because Mayor [James] Knowles is there,” Mr. Roorda said. “They want dead cops and that was their goal all along, and that was their goal last night.”

Two St. Louis-area officers were released Thursday from the hospital after being hit by gunfire as they worked crowd control outside the Ferguson Police Department. About 150 protesters had gathered for a midnight rally related to recent unrest between the black community and police department.

Mr. Roorda said he was “sickened” by the situation, saying that, “We’re perpetuated one lie after another to mollify those who want to see cops dead.”

Tensions were inflamed again last week after the Justice Department released a report that found Ferguson police used tickets and arrests as a money-making tool that placed a disproportionate burden on black residents.

The report also found a half-dozen racist emails on the city server. Six Ferguson city hall and police employees have resigned since the report was issued March 4, including the police chief and city manager.

That same day, the Justice Department issued a report explaining why there would be no charges brought against Officer Darren Wilson, who shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown in August in what protesters had described as an example of police racism. The report said it could not be disproved that the officer feared for his safety.

Mr. Roorda faulted Attorney General Eric Holder for issuing the reports on the same day, thereby ensuring that the report declining to charge Officer Wilson would receive less attention.

“Instead of Attorney General Holder coming out when the Justice Department reports were finished and saying, ‘We were wrong, the initial accounts were a lie, Darren Wilson didn’t murder Michael Brown in cold blood in the street as he was attempting to surrender, he was defending his life and used deadly force in defense of that life,’ instead they say, ‘You know what, it was never really about Michael Brown being shot, it was about the Ferguson Police Department writing too many tickets or about them having seven emails sent in the department that nobody knew about,’” Mr. Roorda said.

“We’re replacing the old lie with the new lie,” he said.  Read more: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/mar/12/ferguson-protesters-want-dead-cops-says-jeff-roord
