A Malaysian passenger plane with 295 people on board has been shot down as it flew above eastern Ukraine, according to aviation sources.

The plane, which is believed to have been flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was traveling at an altitude of 10km (6.2 miles) when it was shot down, Russia’s Interfax reported.

The aircraft, reportedly a Boeing 777, was brought down by a Buk ground-to-air missile, an adviser to the Ukrainian interior ministry quoted by the news agency said.

The Big Question is Who Shot It Down?

The price of gold soared $20 an ounce within minutes of the news.  AUN-TV believes that is because of the implications.   A Malaysian 777 disappered months ago, now another one has been shot down. A coincidence?   Was it Ukraine shooting down what they thought was a Russian plane?  Was it terrorists?  Was it Russian Separatists in the Ukraine?  Who shot it down may have serious future consequences for the world.

The first assertion as to who did has been reported. The aircraft was “shot down” over Ukraine by “terrorists” operating a Buk surface-to-air missile system, Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, has reportedly said.
